What it involves
Most tooth loss in adults is not decay — it is gum disease, and it is painless until it is advanced. A hygiene appointment removes the hard deposits brushing cannot reach, and measures the pocket around every tooth so we can see whether anything is moving in the wrong direction.
You are shown your own numbers and where the problem areas are. If the chart looks fine, we will tell you so and see you in six months.
Who it is for
- Bleeding when you brush or floss
- Anyone who has not had a clean in over a year
- Implants, crowns or bridges that need maintaining
- Smokers, and anyone with diabetes, where the risk runs higher
How it goes
- 01
Assessment
Gum measurements around every tooth, and photographs anywhere something needs watching.
- 02
Cleaning
Ultrasonic and hand scaling above and below the gum line. Topical numbing gel if you want it.
- 03
Polish and finish
A polish, then floss or interdental brushes sized to your own gaps rather than a generic pack.
- 04
Plan
A recall interval based on your chart, not a default six months.
Worth knowing
Advanced gum disease may need more than one visit, or a referral to a periodontist. The first appointment tells us which.
Questions we get
About forty-five minutes. A conversation about what is bothering you, an examination, a 3D scan and photographs, then a plan on screen with the price beside it. Nothing is treated on a first visit unless you are in pain and ask us to.
We provide itemised invoices and treatment codes that most Lebanese and international insurers accept, and we will help you submit them. We are not able to bill insurers directly.
Most of what we do happens under local anaesthetic, and you will feel pressure rather than pain. Topical gel goes on before the injection. For longer appointments — or if anxiety is the reason you have been putting this off — conscious sedation is available: you stay awake and responsive, but remember very little of it.
